We're always looking for ways to improve the workplace experience for our collaborators. We've created resources ranging from culture, policies, standards, templates, tools, etc., and organized them into a centralized knowledge base.
As Elaniin grew, so did the size of this internal wiki. This made it harder for our collaborators to find the information they needed. Many teams were getting inundated with questions, pulling them away from their core responsibilities. It was clear we needed a more efficient solution. We set out to develop something that would promptly deliver information to our collaborators, allowing our support teams to focus on high-impact initiatives.
Meet Iris: our collaborators’ conversational AI assistant
Our AI-powered conversational assistant is built with our AI Platform, specifically, with the SenseFlow product. Iris is designed to provide quick, accurate answers to our collaborators' questions, accessible through our mobile app and Slack.
You have heard it before: without data, there's no AI. Even more interesting, with no quality data, there is no quality AI. Despite our wiki being sorted in a way everyone at Elaniin understands, there were some initial hurdles, as Iris sometimes gave incorrect or confusing responses due to the structure.
So we also created tools to extract, transform, and load our complex wiki data into a structured, semantic, and hierarchical format while keeping our wiki easily editable. We improved Iris' performance using data processing techniques and RAG architecture to add capabilities beyond the base model.
Before rolling out Iris company-wide, we thoroughly tested her with a select group of collaborators. Their feedback helped us fine-tune Iris and ensure she was ready to meet the diverse needs of our entire workplace. Iris handles large employee inquiries, freeing up our previously question-flooded teams.
